About Us
At Janus Counseling Services, we understand that the internal wounds can sometimes be the hardest to heal. A therapist who builds trust and relationship through validation, mindfulness, awareness, and honesty can help. Relationship is essential to any successful therapy experience, and our therapist's focus on building rapport, trust and understanding, not only between ourselves and clients, but the client's own understanding of themselves, what is happening, and why.
We are a small, clinician-led practice offering personalized care and the continuity of working with the same therapist from start to finish. Our mission is to help individuals explore and understand their inner worlds, heal from past wounds, and build healthier, more fulfilling relationships with themselves and others.
Utilizing strategies and different modalities that best suit each individual, our clinicians are trained to work with adults, adolescents and children dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, self esteem, stress, relationship and other issues
Facing our own inner truth can be one of the most difficult and frightening experiences of our lives.
It can also be the most rewarding.
Thank you for considering us as a partner in your wellness. We look forward to supporting you on your path to emotional health and happiness.

Our Team

Laura Buell, MA, LPCC
With over 30 years of experience in the mental health field, Laura Buell is a dedicated and skilled mental health counselor specializing in a holistic, client-centered approach to therapy. Practicing as a mental health counselor since 2007, Laura's training includes a diverse array of therapeutic modalities, including EMDR, TRM (Trauma Resiliency Model), IFS, mindfulness, attachment theory, and somatic approaches, all of which she integrates to create tailored treatment plans that address the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Not tied to any one modality, Laura understands that the true strength in therapy lies in the relationship, trust and rapport of the two people working together and centers her practice on this principle, ensuring that all clients feel heard, seen and understood.
Laura believes deeply in the power of a healthy mind in a healthy body, a philosophy she embraces both in her practice and personal life. Outside of counseling, she enjoys swimming, spending time outdoors, and connecting with her family, always striving for balance and well-being in all aspects of life.
With her wealth of experience and passion for supporting others, Laura is committed to helping clients find peace, resilience, growth and a new understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of self.

Ashlee Jojola, MA, LMSW
I am committed to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care to diverse populations. My practice is grounded in cultural humility and strengths-based approaches, with experience in individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management.
I specialize in working with teenagers, neurodiverse individuals, individuals struggling with chronic pain, and those who identify within the LGBTQIA+ community. As a queer, nonbinary person of color with lived experience navigating my own mental health, I bring a deeply personal understanding to my work. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is affirming, inclusive, and rooted in empathy. I value mindfulness, grounding practices, and client empowerment as tools for healing. My goal is to support clients in building resilience, deepening self-awareness, and reconnecting with their sense of identity and belonging.

The meaning behind Janus Counseling
Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and transitions, is often depicted looking both backward and forward—reminding us that every ending carries the seed of a new beginning. At Janus Counseling Services, we hold that same vision: honoring where you’ve been while supporting you in moving toward where you want to go. We believe that within each person lies the capacity for growth and change. With support, reflection, and hope, even small steps can lead to meaningful transformation.
